Battle Royal: Mac Vs. PC

Alright, so I watched Brad DeMoss's AMV Creation 101 panel at AX, and I kinda got curious about the possibility of buying a new Mac (possibly a G5.) I want all of your vicious soul eating input on this topic, so do your worst and sling all the mud you can, one way or another.
The topic: In terms of AMV creation, what are the advantages and disadvantages to owning a Mac versus owning a PC?

well the main advantage i see in using a Mac is that you get to use Final Cut, which i feel is a better editing solution than anything anybody in here can afford for a pc.

There's already a thread about this in Video Hardware called "Want to Edit? Get a Powerbook!" or something similar.

I use a PC, would love to get a mac, so it goes.

well, I'd be happy with a pc if i could get an AVID workstation, but damn i don't have $8,000!!

Anyway, reading through that thread gave me a major headache, but I think I have the answer to most of my questions, thanks.

Oh jebus not another Mac vs. PC war. No one ever wins these things! Leave it be. Wait for the new technology to come down the line (6-8 months) and just run OS X.2 on your PC.

Macs = Better editing software and faster (with the G5).

PCs = Better encoding software and cheaper.
