DVD Decryptor just fscking stopped doing anything...

Post by Chaos Angel » Sat Mar 29, 2003 6:47 pm

I am ripping some VOBs with DVD Decryptor, but it isn't doing anything. It reached 54%, and it just stopped. Read speed is 0x. It went fine for half an hour-fourty-five minutes oir so, but now it's bee running for an hour and a half, and it hasn't gotten beyond 54%. Why is this, and how can I fix it? Thanks.

Kick it... hard

No, really I don't know, that's the kind of frustrating thing that makes you just go "AAARRGGGGGHHHH" (or something along that line) But I don't know what to do. Sorry. So in conclusion, I think I have ADD :?

Try messing with the key check stttings, to make it check more frequently, or even try brute force cracking.

It's possible your DVD drive may be either failing, or overheating due to airflow issues.

Try ripping just one vob at a time, then letting it cool down, or try taking the side panel off your case even, and see if that helps.

Hmm... come to think of it, when I took the DVD out after getting sick of waiting, it DID feel warm... maybe taking the case sides off would help speed it up a bit...

Let me try some cooling measures and see how that helps.

Ok, I took off the side casings, and it just fucking FLEW!! Went through the first 54% faster than I've ever seen a DVD rip. Then, when it hit 54%, it just stopped again. I dunno, maybe it's my DVD?

I tried playing it in my non-computer DVD player, and it played just fine, no problems. But, my PowerDVD trial version says it is damaged in such a way as to disable playback.

...??

Could it be a *whispers* HK bootleg? If so, those things are often made like crap.
It's perfectly possible to have a legit DVD be defective or contain errors too.

No, it's not a bootleg. It's the remastered R1 release of Akira.
