No harm in trying the server to see if I can get <100 ping. Then I can headshot you on de.survivor whilst you get blinded in the white outside and confused in the dark corridors :)
Alright, recently Hitori and I have moved to this server:

209.237.40.60:27015

I hope you can get a good ping since Hitori and I do. If not, give us an IP and we'll try it on our end.

Also go to ClanRV's forum. Unfortunately the server has gone down, but I guess we will still post match times and servers on there. As for a time...unsure right now since I am working on a video and Hitori has been MIA :-P

Oh and I will pwn j00 f00 :-P

You probably will own me, but it's all good - I enjoy CS on a well run server free of aimbots and wallhacks :)

Unfortunately I'm getting a 200ms ping on there at the moment. So no AWP headshots for me then.

200 ping eh? I guess we could try servers you like and maybe we'll get great ping there. I think it would be QUITE unfair for Hitori and I since get < 40 ping on there.

As for owning..it doesn't matter. I have fun playing...esp. with people I know. Although that doesnt' apply to Hitori who is teh sux0r regardless and gets pwned by Miyuki-Chan :-P.

Well, I tend to play on UK servers:

http://www.meatyballs.net/

have good servers with a good level of play and regular admins. I like those severs.

If they are full I usually play on jolt.co.uk servers

http://www.cs.jolt.co.uk/index.php?page=servers.php

The jolt servers occasionally get invaded by cheaters though :/

I generally get 20/30ms ping on the above... Maybe we could play on an asian server and both of us get crappy ping :P

P.S. Sorry for taking the thread totally OT

Alright I'll try some tonight or maybe later in the week (gotta focus on my vid). Hitori can you try?

Asian servers and crappy ping? Heh...so we can both have like 500 ping and be "teleporting" yeah...fun :)

Yeah it's OT, but no one has complained yet :)

Another bad thing about LCDs: If you ever run them in a resolution other than their native resolution, it looks like crap. That becomes a real problem with games when you lower the res to make the game run better, while your comp gets older.

And even with the newest LCDs, there is a still signs of ghosting that you can see, especially on high contrast areas, like black on white, etc.

Well I don't think I'll run into that problem since I run a dual 2 Ghz set-up and can run all my 3D FPS at 100+ FPS (although I limit it to 60 since you can't tell the difference). I think my dual should hold up for a good amount of time. I also run everything at the same res (1024x768). However, I have gone to 12XXx1024 and it looks fine.

As for ghosting, honestly...if you get the setting I mentioned, there is no problem. I did QUITE a bit of research before buying an expensive LCD. I am a gamer and definitely wouldn't have bought it if it had ghosting. < 25 ms...trust me. I think most of you are thinking those $200 analog LCDs at Bestbuy.

um, isnt that because in an analog crt monitor, the video card is pushing the bandwidtch and frequency? and with and digital monitor, the monitor itself renders the display image and the video card is just relaying passive digital info?

I don't think the video card is slow enough that it would matter. The refresh rate on a Monitor/LCD is obviously how fast it refreshes the pixels. When this is a high number, you get ghosting since an image is still on the screen or isn't refreshed quickly enough.

You are correct about the bandwidth and frequency don't get me wrong. In fact, although it's "digital," with DVI, it's still has a frequency and bandwidthy component. In this case it would more be taken care of by a bus of bits (ooh alliteration), but it would be sent at a frequency (I believe it's either 60 or 75 Hz) through a "square" function.

What I'm getting at is that the LCD itself refreshes the data it receives from the videocard at that refresh frequency. In any case, I like it and it's fine so :-P
