Hard drive fucked up. I'm out of comission for a while.

Do you have a boot disc? if not just Buy a new copy of windows.. Its always good to have an extra copy even if yuor computer starts to gimp or not. Ya its not cheap, nor is anime and editing programs

I remember When my hardrive had like 20 bi;llion trojans cause my cause was going on retarded sites, I had ol faithfull "Xp Disc" and never had the problem again

As I recall, you're allowed more than one install on a licensed copy. A new one, however, will run you ~$200. I think.

What about that option at the HP screen when you turn the computer on, where it tells you to press F10 for system recovery?

Well, I got it to restore the system to the way it was when it was originally packaged in the factory and got me 100 GB of free space, but it's STILL slowly decreasing in kilobytes, like by 4 or 5 kilobytes, but it seems to be going slower than it did before the system restore. What the hell? This is messed up! Unless it's normal for the drive space to slowly decrease by 4-5 megabytes......

It's losing space by 4 or 5 kb every what? second? minute? hour? Simple browser cashing would do something similar if you restored your system - for a short time at least.

Since the restore, have you tried running antivirus checks? Spyware checks?

That's why I keep my win 98 disks around, for that I would boot using that and format the sucker.... then re-install windows from scratch...
