Was the computer working before, or is this a new build?
yes the computer was working before. i had the same problem as last time but i got it fixed. it worked fine for about a week until the problem happend again. i opened up the computer and the cards were loose so i fixed it but it still does it.
Is the computer homebuilt or a pre-manufactured one?
its a premanufactured one.
Is the Video card built into the mobo?

What kinda video card is it?

Also list other general specs if you know them.

as long as i dont have to be on the main screen i can find out thats when it likes to cut out on me. id like to mention also that the bands connecting the video card and the other part of the card is damaged. theres a scratch on the band(dont know what you call that in tech term) like its been torn. the computer guy that originaly fixed the problem said that the cards were kinda close so that could of what caused it to tare. i think thats why all those lines are showing up on my computer. any one got any input on that idea??madmag9999 wrote:couldnt he find that out in the bios

yeah but depending on how old his motherboard/bios revision is, it may just give him some oppsions and in effect ask him to set it himself.madmag9999 wrote:couldnt he find that out in the bios
oh and, torn ? the slightest scratch could turn any motherboard/input card from a powerfull beast to a frisby with sharp edges. and i just read an article in pcpowerplay where a guy had the exact same problem. new video card, thats your only solution. just be careful with the agp. then again, could you just give some specs on what your pc actualy is (cpu, ram type/speed, stuff like that), i might be able to just tell ya what your agp is
