Does hardware effect playback?

HEHE i have an ATI Rage Pro Turbo (WOW TURBO!!! IT MUST GO REALLY FAST!!!!) on my 450mhz... it was good until i started to play games on it... well mostly high end games like WWII Online.

Well he had a 8meg Xpert 98, which was a Rage Pro Turbo. It worked fine when he was in Windows 98. Video would play full screen and he could resize the video without it getting choppy. Moved on up to the much better/stabled Win2k and the latest Win2k ATI drivers and it was chop city when trying to resize video or do anything full screen. So I blame the hardware there, and he couldn't just got out and purchase what he already had ;)

As you see he has a GF2 GTS now and it works fine ;)
