Mac compression programs

AD - Isn't it true that the ability to make an MOV on the PC is due to Apple? Why hasn't Microsoft pushed getting Macs to play AVIs a little better? It's a corporate conspiracy, I tell you!

Anyway, internet compression (unless you have professional software like Cleaner which, by the way, is an amazing program) isn't exactly the Mac's forte... I built a PC specifically for compression. Macs are there pretty much for uncompressed - big, pretty things that can be put to film. PCs make little pretty things for the masses that stay at home. Fun fun.

Well, yes... as they own the patent it seems logical :)

As for why avi doesn't have much support on macs - 1) mov is better 2) microsoft have historically been passive about video technologies until now.

I heard of a program called "Movie2MPEG" that works well. Should be able to find it via a google search.

I tried Movie2MPEG version "0.1d7"the results were massive quality loss and frame dropping like a Mofo!
