I actually do stillhave a use for using a capture card. My camcorder uses DV tapes and I have no fire wire on my current tower.

You should either look that the capture card offers a firewire too or get an additional firewire card (They aren't expensive). An analogue capture of DV-recorded material is an unnecessary quality loss.
