I wish there was a Poll option on this BB... I would simply like to know your platform of choice -- no opinions, please, on the merits of your platform, I could indulge myself and rant about that too. So... Mac or PC? After a fair number of responses, I'll calculate the ratio and see if it meets my expectations.

Actually, please also note if you use your computer for video editing on a professional basis. I'm trying mainly to poll amateurs like myself.

I use both regularly and interchangably, depending on the requirements of the project at hand.

My recent AMVs and short works have been done on a Mac laptop (15" Powerbook G4, 512 MB RAM), since it's with me all the time, so I can edit anywhere inspiration strikes and it has sufficient hard disk space for the source files for up to a 15-minute long project.

My larger work (anything over 15 minutes, or needs a lot of disk space) is done on a desktop PC, which is much more powerful (Athlon 64 3500+, 2 GB RAM) and has more than four times the hard disk space available, and is the system I'm more used to, having more experience on it.

I consider myself semi-pro, as I edit a number of shows for a local cable access station, but more of my editing is amateur fanworks.

I think completely obviously why - i, as the majority of amateurs, simply do not have any to this of money. But even if we could allow ourselves poppy, do not forget - indeed many amateurs AMV also the amateurs of games, but in this sense PC as is more compatible, so also is more accessible in the relationship of price with speed and quality of iron.
