capture card program help

Sorry to post a topic like this (I'm not even sure if it should go here) but I'm not sure of a good program that will work with my capture card. I need a FREE program that will allow me to capture using my capture card. I've tried a few but none seem to work. I think this is beacuse my capture card is old. I was hopeing that someone will know a program that will allow me to capture from my capture card (it's Mitsumi VB-501 btw my dad got in back in '95 or so) maybe just an older program will work but I'm not sure. Any help will be much appreciated. Thank you!

Virtual Dub can capture. I've never tried it but I think it should work fine.

virtual dub works fine... its just that some setting u can't change due to what u're capture card is capable of, like resolution. i used to use virtual dub but now since i edit everything in dv i use vegas capture... though it wasn't free it came with my vegas 4 purchase

Could you maybe tell us who the card manufacturer is? (ATI, Panasonic, Matrox, ect.) Some manufacturers offer capturing software online for free...mine does anyway.
