A few n00bish questions...

Hello all, this is my first post on this forum and id like to introduce myself to you all........................ hi

Okay, i'll get started on my topic now.

Questions:

Can iMovie use anime movies (not music videos) that are downloaded from Kazaa, iMesh exct... or to I need a DVD player?

is iMovie good for beginers (ive made a couple AMV's but nothing outstanding) ?

thats all I really need to know, thanx for your help

don't use dled footage, its illegal, its bad quality... though i think imovie supports it

any vid editor should be able to open any file type (well, common ones) so ya should have no problems. however if you use downloaded footage expect nothing but flames and a string of 0's for your opps

okay, thats all i needed thanks... meh, loooks like i'll be ditching out tons of money on DVDs...

best thing to do is to buy box sets. oh and, you can actualy use downloaded footage, just make sure ya dont tell anyone . oh yeah, ya'll almost certianly have to deal with subtitle removal, which can get a bit messy in certian scenes. but video quality issues are prety much gone, i see almost dvd quality anime from BT sites, at around 215MB. then again, id realy rather not have to deal with subtitles when creating an amv

iMovie will work fine for importing/editing any *ahem* support video formats. If you happen to have Quicktime Pro and you can export the AVI files to DV streams, you'll get "better" overall editing performance (more disk space required though).

Opps, I take it back. You *will* need to convert whatever it is you're using to DV before iMovie will import it (I'm used to Final Cut, which will accept anything it can read pretty much). Quicktime Pro ($30) will allow you to do this conversion easily.
