I'm very partial to Toshiba DVD drives.

I've had great results from both the 12x and 16x drives I have here, and they excel at audio CD ripping, too.

Good, quiet, reliable drives.

I've had my Lite-On DVD drive for about 3 years now and it's starting to act up...

But it has done well! :)

I don't even have a DVD-Rom anymore..I got a DVD-RW drive...^.^....but I get the same shit...2x ripping...mine can read up to 12x...I'm somewhat confused......I don't mind ripping at 2x but It would be nice to rip faster...I just hope their's a positive solution....maybe it's firmware?...

If you've got a Pioneer DVD-Rom or DVD-RW drive some of them won't rip above 2.0x, but some also have firmware upgrades.

www.rpc1.com give it a look.
