Somehow I missed this earlier.... I believe you're right, at least in some cases- the problem is that again it's comparing apples to oranges in a way- the program they're using are generally either custom written programs for their productions house or ones that make what Premiere and FCP cost look like pocket change.

I wish there were more editing options for Linux as well. Admittedly, I've never really had the chance to try and get accustomed to Cinerella, but until there's something readily available that I can do all of what I can do in After Effects in Linux, I probably won't be making the effort :/
