Reading Lagarith Lossless Codec

Post by Plumeria » Sat Mar 29, 2008 1:23 pm

Alright, so apparently for getting avi's on Adobe Premeir Elements, Lagarith Lossless Codec is the best and free thing to use. But my problem with that is the whole installation. Every time I try to start up installation(this is already extracted out of the compressed file) I'm met with this window.

So anybody know how I can open this thing up so I can start converting videos?

Several problems here.
1.) A .dll file won't install anything for you. Executable files (.exe) install things. The .dll file is used by the .exe file.
2.) Lagarith should have been installed by the AMVApp to begin with. If you never got the AMVApp, get it here.

You need to right-click on lagarith.inf and select Install.

Thank you very much for the link, all this stuff should be useful. Now all I have to do is figure out black lettering.

It's already installed, it's just a dll file and I can't figure out how to run it.

now that lagarith is installed, you should see it in the list of codecs for virtualdub/virtualdubmod (among other places...but vdub/mod is the one you'll be using to do your converting)

A&E's Technical Guides to All Things Audio and Video mk 2

There's a Vdub section in there. Though I would recommend reading the whole guide and putting it into practice. (Read: strongly recommend.)
