I read in the compression guide that if your not lookin to go Huff or Lag, then DV is the way to go. The only problem is i dont see any option for it in Vdub (under compression options)....can any one explain?

DV has a number of technical limitations (frame size, frame rate, etc.) that Lag and Huffy don't, which is why we recommend those two over DV so often. In addition, contrary to popular belief, DV is not lossless. There's not a lot of loss, so the quality is still very high, but there is some.
If you really want to use DV in VirtualDub, you need to have a DV codec that works with VfW (Video for Windows, the precursor to DirectShow). The best one I've come across is the Panasonic DV Codec (Download Link).
