x264 encoder issues

So, I've played around with zarxGUI and MeGUI in the past... Encoded successfully with MeGUI for my last vid in fact. But now whenever I open either program i have full functionality for all of 20 to 30 seconds before either program crashes.

Does anyone happen to know if there are conflicts with either / both of these encoders and any sort of software? I've amassed quite a bit on this system since my last successful encode, so it could be so many things it boggles the mind.

I'm running Windows XP x64.

Why not just command line it?

BTW, I told Zarx I have not ever been able to open his program. I click on it and nothing happens.

In principle because GUIs are made to simplify things - so why make things more complicated for myself?

I mannaged to preform some sort of magic and got everything to work correctly with a newer version of Megui - this can be locked.
