Converting MPEG-2 to AVI?

Post by ffxdean » Tue Oct 16, 2007 6:29 am

Hi

Im having trouble converting this particular MPEG-2 to avi as it contains 2 different sizes in the file. Does anyone know how i can split this file exactly when it changes different ratios?

it starts from the size 704x480 then half way through, it changes to 512x480. Of course WMP automaticaly changes while playing but when it comes down to editing and converting it turn out to be a heap of blocks (when the ratio changes).

Any help will be Great.

TMPGEnc's MPEG Tools should be able to split MPEG-2 streams.

You can also try running the MPEG-2 file through DVD2AVI/DGIndex, serving the resultant D2V with AVISynth, and saving an AVI from the resultant AVS script.

.. chances are that your dealing with two separate VOB files; its not normal to combine two different sizes in one file .. have you determined which file size your going to crop to?
