VOB to Final ... 0_o

Post by post-it » Wed Aug 01, 2007 5:47 pm

following a question that was asked by D-face the thought came to mind which could not be answered!?!

VOB ...stop stop stop!!!

all I want to do is take my VOB which IS my completely edited AMV and place it in its final container. Two containers have been chosen: .OGM and .MKv ... now; without using AviSynth or Virtual Dub ... how would I go about this for each of the containers listed?

1) the VOB has the Audio Track Re-Encoded to AC_7 at 224k rate and 96k speed.

2) the VOB is standard 704 X 396 @ 56fps.

3) the VOB has four(4) sub-titles for all four languages I've chosen.

A) I want to make an .OGM file containing 1, 2 and 3.

B) I want to make an .MKV file containing 1, 2 and 3.

.. soo .. where are the guidelines found to make each of these files ??

woah! i dunno about teh guidelines but you might wanna try MeGUI and all the stuff it uses to have all these features packed up in an MKV.

Doom9's ma favourite place of all time for video stuff. You should visit it and I'm sure you'll find more than just guidelines.

If you can make said VOB available I can give you step by step instructions, however you should avoid OGM like the plague. It's totally obsolete. Also note that MP4 supports multiple tracks too, so that may be another consideration.

I'm not sure why the resolution is 704x396, it's both non standard and non mod 16.

It's been months since I encoded anything and with moving house and stuff I don't have a lot of storage left on my laptop or any handy sources available, so if you can supply a VOB I can make sure it works on my end.

the more I'm learning about MP4 the more curious I'm becoming ^__^

Zero1; if you say "it will work" then I'll just keep trying until I get it right ^_^
