Codec Problem

A few days ago, i went to start a AMV cause i was basicly in the mood to make one, i opened adobe etc but after i imported it, i was only showing up as a audio file. I tried it in WMM and it failed saying i didn't have the codec. I downloaded and reinstalled the codec again, but still didn't work. I can play the files on winamp and media player so i dont know why i can use them in editors.
