Umm... not quite Cornwiggle...
Anyways, I did a quick google and found this
(more .amv info here)Wikipedia wrote:AMV is a video file format, produced for use in Chinese MP3/MP4/MTV Players; classified as S1 MP3 Players. Note that despite the word "MP4" in the description of several players, this is not an MP4 file format. Video compression ratio is low, compared with other formats, though as the files are of low resolution and frame rate, file sizes are small compared to DVD/VCD/etc. (in a bytes-per-minute sense). Encoding and decoding are less processor-intensive than other contemporary formats (i.e. faster to encode on, say, desktop computer, and less hard on the batteries of the portable device), as in fact very little "encoding" is actually done.

There was actually an info site set up that told people to come here for info - I joined their forums and told them we had nothing to do with any of that... the questions did die down for a while after that (last summer, IIRC, it came up a bunch).JaddziaDax wrote:yea well this isnt the first time this topic has come up O.o

the highest resolution i think is 176 by 240 (it could be higher, but it cant be more than 350). Any how, the real question here is why would you want a higher resoultion? If you think the quality will get better it wont, as its fixed for 160 by 128 (1.8inch) or 128x128 (1.5inch screens). Well i hope that answers your question.
