How to convert mp4 to avi

Im soo sorry to ask this weird question but, i deleted my project files and i made a mp4 version before i did that and i wanted to know if it;s possible to reconvert my video without losing quality?

I'd suggest loading it into Vdub via DirectShowSource and then converting to a Lagarith or Huffyuv AVI, if you don't want to lose any quality.

so i type DirectShowSource("Theareaofmyvideo") and thats it>? and load that script in VDUB

Yep, that's it. (And save it back out with your compression of choice, of course.)
