Virtual dub decoder error

I try import an avi clip but when I open the file it says , could'nt locate decompressor for format 'DX50' (unknown) virtual dub requires for windows VFW compatible codec to decompress video , DirectShow codecs , such as those used by windows media player , are not suitable any suggestions thanks in advance

divx5 should be able to decode that, but I'm pretty sure that xvid was used to encode that file.

download and install xvid

.. DX50 is a Xvid encode .. however it is also using a Divx Layer.

.. FFDshow or CCCP codec's should solve that problem for you.
