MKV to AVI

I'm trying to burn a currently unlicensed anime, for the anime club at my school. Problem is 4 episodes of the series in question are MKV files. I can't convert, let alone open them, with VirtualDubMod, AVIsynth, or Dr. Dvix. Not sure what to do now. The anime in question is Doujin Work. Any help would appreciated.
