Post by Knappster » Wed Aug 08, 2007 1:05 pm

Well usually what I would do to make the avi file smaller is just put in the xvid codec. its always worked fine for me but now my codec is messed up. I can watch it but i cant send it to people, upload it to send to poeple, lol, and i cant even upload it here. suggestions?

That's not a codec problem, it's an upload problem. Check your internet connection. Possible sources of this issue: firewalls, routers, proxies....

.. most people have two firewall systems on their computers these days plus an anti-virus program. The firewall works with your anti-virus program to verify that only the program you are downloading/uploading is being sent and that nothing else is being allowed to pass from/to your computer.

.. programs that render a firewall useless are Sharing Protocal Programs .. like LimeWire, Bit Torrots and other head-ache's. These programs often allow things to be added to your hard drive without your knowledge. No amount of firewall protection can stop the damage a File Sharing Program can cause to your system.

.. to test your firewall, simply remove any trace of your file sharing programs .. your hard drive will remain quiet -- that silence is your proof that your firewall is working properly 8-)
