Bass

I'm sorry to trouble you all with such a simple question, but does anyone know of a decent (preferably free) program that would increase the bass in a song. I am doing a music video for a school assignment, and its all done, but my computer has a decent sound system, thus when i play it in school the bass is, well, faint. I had one, but it didn't increase the bass too much so i played with the frequency some which made it so that it would sound lower like i wanted but it wouldn't hold the beat like it does on the computer... any suggestions, thnx.
