Can you play AMVs on Video iPod?

I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post this question, but I'd appreciate if someone could tell me if you can play AMVs that you download on this site (such as .avi and .mpeg/.mpg) on the video iPods that play normal music videos.

They need to be converted to MP4 first.
Then you can play them.
