I've got a problem...

Post by Bloodseeker » Sat May 13, 2006 10:51 pm

My mom wants to transfer all of her songs from the iTunes on this computer to the new laptop. When I brought all of them over on the thumb drive, they because it couldn't find the original file. (I didn't copy shortcuts)

I'm thinking that the security code that I heard the iPod puts on there to prevent piracy prevented me from copying it... if so, is there any way around it? If not, then what do you think the problem is?

If you copied them onto your new laptop properly, then you shouldn't get that message. The music is located in your "My Documents", "My Music", "iTunes" folder.

Make sure you register the laptop under the SAME iTunes ID that you registered the computer with. If you are using a different iTunes ID on that computer, it will not work. Your iTunes downloads will work on a MAXIMUM of 5 computers with the same registered ID.
