When I play divx and xvid files on wmp they can be really choppy, off sync, etc. So I have to play it on the divx player. I know my 2 of my friends have the same problem, but I'm told this is not a problem for others. Is it due to my 2 yr old computer, or something else?
I was also thinking that I bet alot of ppl download divx files and have these problems, and think nothings wrong and the vid just has really poor timing/quality.

The number #1 reasons for your divx file being out of synch are:
#1) Slow computer
#2) Crappy playback codec/filter
#3) Crappy directshow filters that autoload and mess with playback.
What type of computer do you have and what codec are you using to play back teh divx? Also some specs on the DivX files you try playing... Like say 640x480 on a 400Mhz K6-2 isn't going to work out.
