I'm having problems with wmp

I've been trying to get my dvds to play in Window Media Player, but everytime I try the vid starts a "Send Error report comes up" All I want to do is burn the footage to my computer that way I can use it for my amv's. I'm just wondering if anybody has any advice for me.

First of all, burning (in this sense of the word) is the act of writing data to CDs and DVDs, not your hard drive. Copying data from DVDs and CDs to your hard drive is usually called ripping.

Second of all, don't use Windows Media Player to rip DVDs. Just because it works for CDs doesn't mean it works for DVDs.
Get a dedicated ripping program, such as SmartRipper or DVD Decrypter (both of which can be found at doom9.org).

Instructions on ripping your footage and getting it into a form you can edit can be found in VicBond007's guide and in Absolute Destiny and Ermac's guide, both of which can be found on the guides page.

yeah i've heard of these programs, well thanks. It is just weird my dvd's wont play in wmp. oh well thanks again.
