Bait and Switch method problem

Post by MousePotato » Sun Apr 24, 2005 8:32 pm

Im using Premiere Pro but I know this method does work. However, I have encountered a problem with it's frame accuracy. I had originally made the compressed the avi versions of my synths with the M-JPEG 3 VfW Codec (which I bought the licence for) at the recommended 10 quallity setting on fast recompress. Now, having tested out the method with lip synched scenes, I found that the whole sequence would turn into a still frame of the character I had lip synching. Also, there was alot of action thrown out of synch after the switch.

I disided to go to this method because I had first tried using the avi files themselves but at even the lowest quality setting the timecode appeared jerky.

Im tempted to cut my losses and render out high quaility avi versions of the avsynths and use them for the final export but I would like to avoid it.

Ok then, as far as the jerkiness of the asisynths go, If I forgo the IVTCing and colorspace conversion until after the amv is complete, will that help the performance of Premiere Pro? Then will I be able to IVTC and covert to RGB afterwards without reprocussion?

If you are using bait and switch, then your mjpeg files should be EXACTLY THE SAME as your avisynth files. IVTC should not even be a question at this point, because IVTC CHANGES the avisynth files. Fix your avisynth scripts so they are exactly the same as what you used to create the mjpeg files, then see if its working properly.
