Audio cracking

whenever my computer is loading the music cracks, like i open a site on the internet, and the music I am listing to cracks and screws up. its all fine until my computer is doing somthing else other than listen to music. I tried to use more than one audio program, such as windows media player and quicktime. I just reinstalled windows 2000 on my computer, because i had an insedent that i could not resolve, and it was working before i reinstalled windows. what should i do?

check for new audio drivers.

check speaker jacks, or the speakers themselves.
