To those of us that are inept

I've seen this mentioned every now and again, but what does mfToon-v0.52 do exactly, and wtf do I do to make it work.

It sharpens outlines and darkens and sharpens if they are black outlines.

You need a complicated filter chain... or the new amvapp :)

Dependencies and usage:

LoadPlugin("aWarpSharp.dll")
LoadPlugin("WarpSharp.dll")
LoadPlugin("MaskTools149.dll")
Import("mfToon-v0.52.avs")
mfToon()

You can grab what you need here.

The only common colorspace that all of mfToon's dependencies share is YV12. Therefore, you need an AVISynth from the 2.5.x series to run this. I've used mfToon v0.52 on 2.5.3, 2.5.4, and 2.5.5 alpha, and it runs great.

There's something around a metric shitton or two of parameters that you can tweak, but the defaults look ok most of the time.

If you do use mfToon, I recommend that you crop black space off first. This may not be strictly necessary, but I've noticed that mfToon's processing can mess with black borders, sometimes causing blackness to "leak" into the frame.

cell shading would be recoloring the entire thing from scratch again. This isn't doing quite that. Just touching it up.
