- What's your source?
- Post your AVS script.

Since DVD is 720x480, it's not a 4:3 ratio for a computer, though it looks normal on a television. You'll need to resize it from 720x480 to 640x480 or some other 4:3 ratio in order for it to look normal on a PC. Some programs are smart enough to understand that D1 resolution should be reshaped a bit, WMP isn't one of those programs.

Also, this may be a stupid question, but did you change the resolution of your monitor?

WMP6.4 and WMP9 will resize correctly flagged MPEGs just fine at fullscreen, either to 4:3 or to 16:9, depending on the file.

Another stupid thing. Double click the middle of the window (where the video is playing) and it should turn into full screen O_o

You're right, that was stupid. His problem isnt that the footage isnt playing fullscreen, its that when it IS fullscreen, it looks widescreen. If his monitor is set to 1280*1024, and he is watching NTSC (720*480) footage in the version of WMP that comes with win XP (not the new version), then it will look very widescreen indeed.

How big are the black bars at the top and bottom? if they're only small, like, less than an inch or so, then its just bcoz u have an outdated version of WMP thats playing the NTSC files at their native resolution of 720*480.
