Post by bum » Wed Apr 21, 2004 3:18 pm

Daio Kaji: but it doesn't do fullscreen with some file types
Daio Kaji: sum videos with Xvid won't stretch past 100%
reinani3: so what appens when ya press alt+enter ?
Daio Kaji: actually won't even go smaller, so it's 100% or nothing
Daio Kaji: it still plays the audio, but you get a giant black screen
reinani3: well thats wierd
Daio Kaji: and you wanna know the sad thing... the old windows media player classic DOES do fullscreen with those videos, lol

1) Right-click the video window
2) go to video frame
3) change it from normal size to "touch window from inside"

well i'd like to thank you too, but it didn't fix the problem

the settings were already like that
(touch window from inside)

so it must be something else... or am i suppose to wait for it to buffer or anything like that?

would it help if i messed with the fullscreen resolution settings or would i just be wasting my time?

(didn't think bum would actually quote our aim chat like that... i'd have talked like i was sum important person or sumin  )

AD is probably right then, something with the overlays. It was a bit vague from the chat log what exactly was happening. It totally disappears when you go full screen?

well the story is

-i commented that i can't go full screen on quicktime player
-bum gave me this codec for using quicktime to play in windows media player classic
-i installed codec-now i am able to play quicktime videos on WMPclassic fullscreen no problem
-but then i tried to play other video file types
-they play fine starting out, but if i try to make the screen anything besides 100%, the picture turns to nothing but black (audio continues)
-once the picture turns black, i can go BACK to 100% and the video continues like nothing happened, but playing fullscreen is really what the problem is

i'm still trying different file types to try to find a connection

could you go into more details on that 'overlays' jive you mentioned AD?

It's a software problem, not a discussion about amvs.

All editing and video playback posts "are about amvs" but that doesn't mean they have to go in General AMV.
