BEIJING -(Dow Jones)- The Chinese government is supporting an effort to develop a homegrown standard for compressing digital audio and video, in its latest attempt to assert its technological independence from the rest of the world.

Red Flag Linux, Dragon Cpu's, SVCD's, all things china has introduced to combat paying royalites and fees to other companies/organizations and also to separate themselves from the technological market as a country.

Here's three cheers for government controlled propaganda delivered by yet another video format that isn't needed, makes me wonder what kind of artifacting it might show.

Blocks are so unexciting. I want fucking triangles. Or possibly hexagons.
