I was instructed by koop to download and use a called Nero to burn VCDs, I download loaded it, installed it, threw about 3 videos on the play list for a test run and clicked burn. Well it started burning, it finished and everything seemed to be going ok. I pop the VCD into my DVD player it starts readign it then it gives me "Disc Error" WTF?! Can anyone tell me what went wrong, I thought VCDs could be played on DVD player?

A number of DVD players can- but not all of them. I believe most recent players can, but if it's an older player there's a chance it won't be able to. DVDR/VCDHelp.com has a pretty good database of players and what they can and can't do here. You can look up your player and whether or not it can play VCDs or burned CDs.
