I was wondering how to compress AVS files in virtualdub using this codec and not get a file size of 500+MB?
If it's not possible to get a samller file size is there another codec that can do what this one does with out themassive file size?

MJPEG saves each frame individually. That and other factors cause MJPEG to be huge, yet not look so great for it size. The thing that MJPEG does have is speed and that's the point of doing the swap. SPEED.
There is no way to make them uber small with out it looking so horrible you can't even edit with them.
You can try setting the quality to 1. But even then, I would guess MJPEGs are going to be just as big as your VOB files ;o. Yet look uber crappy.
