Video rendering on Sony Vegas Pro 11

Since im kinda new to SV, what is the best rendering setting to produce videos? Also like to know what setting is best for encoded .H264 setting since thats what mostly AMV contest like to use thanks.

It's best if you render completely lossless, with .avi uncompressed then use a program like zarxgui to encode at a smaller filesize. You never want to use an editing program to try and encode / cut on file size. All you do is lose unnecessary quality.
