I just really enjoy going off on random tangents, but it's fun to do. I've seen hard drives just crash(fairly common), video cards just starting to display garbage as the computer heats up, processors deciding that 2+2 is actually 5, network cards that forget that they have the ability to operate in both 10mbit and 100mbit modes, computers that only manage to get power on every other time, etc. Macs do have a lot of these failures, however, they tend to put in higher quality base components, whereas most PC afficinados tend to put in high performance low cost(and consequently low reliability) items, like for example early athlons. If you ignore the motherboard and processor, Macs basically use the same components as PCs nowadays, Apple just has a tendancy to stuff their machines with the slightly more expensive components(and thus theortically more reliable).
