I made the avi file, but I need to unistall FFdshow to run Premiere. When I go to import the avi file, it says "Unsupported Compression in File". ???

That just means you don't have the right codec installed to run the file. If you had to uninstall ffdshow, that's probably the problem. I'm assuming that you ininstalled it because Premiere wouldn't start up. That's a conflict between fdshow and another codec, and it would be best if you found out what codec it is and uninstalled that, leaving ffdshow installed.
An easier solution is to uninstall every playback codec you have and install the CCCP.

It's NOT ok to delete everything. You can seriously trash your system if you make mistakes, and go crazy.Krisqo wrote:Are you SURE it is okay to delete all of them if I have the CCCP pack? I don't want to fuck up my computer any more then I have.
If you're uncomfortable PM me and I'll set up an I.M. time to help you.

don't delete everything, just the codecs... DivX, XviD, x.264, etcetera. No system-critical files. It is okay if you don't go about deleting other things. CCCP was made to handle everything playback-related alone. That's why it even comes with two players.

I got to the device manage and went to the video codecs section. I delete all the codecs and installed the CCCP, but when I go back, all the codecs I delete are back.
Also, in regards to ffdshow from the AMV app, If I don't have AviSynth Scripts Serving enabeld, I can run Premiere fine, but if I do select that (which give the makeAVIS thing) I get this message when I click on Premire Pro
The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000005). Click on OK to terminate the appilcation
I even went back and re-ripped the vobs for my videos, still no luck.
I swear my pc is posessed by some demon or something.

That error is usually a codec conflict error, it shouldn't happpen with makeAVIS so I don't know what's happening. As for all the codecs appearing again, here's what you do:
1) Uninstall all codecs including the ones that came with AMVapp. AMVapp's ffdshow is old and outdated. If it's already installed, uninstall the CCCP too. After all, it should run solo, not together with a bunch of other codecs.
2) Restart your computer. It clears up the used files in the registry and that way you can be sure that your computer knows the codecs are uninstalled.
3)Install CCCP, and restart again, just to be sure. Set ffdshow as your standard decoder for the filetypes you're trying to open. Don't change the options for the other formats.
Now it should work, unless there is a demon in your computer. If there is, throw holy water in front of it and pray to Jesus.
