Music Creation/Editing Software Opinions

Well, I decided I want to mess around with this a bit. I currently have two programs in my possession:
Cakewalk's Music Creator 3

Screenblast Music Studio

I'm curious whether anyone has any experiences with either and which you would consider to be better (and opinions in general). I'm not interested in buying anything else, so opinions on either of these or free software.
