For preprocessing, either

1) get a PC, do your Avisynth magic on it, then transfer to the Mac (what I do)
2) use Avidemux on your Mac (more about that here in the Preprocessing section). Avidemux doesn't have all the features of Avisynth, but it's decent.

What computer would you guys recommend buying to get the most bang for my "video-editing" buck? :shock:

Um, assuming this is a Mac...get a Mac Pro or buy a used PowerMac G5 off eBay.
