Is there going to be any problem editing at 23.976fps?
I ran into this a long time ago..
http://www.animemusicvideos.org/guides/ ... 24fps.html
so I've been editing in 24 fps and making all my footage 24 fps. I've looked at most of Zarxrax videos and they are encoded in 23.976 fps and also a lot of other random people including Kusoyaro's videos and they are in 23.976 fps. I want to edit in 23.976 fps because it will get me smaller file sizes and it's easy to put amvs on dvd that way without having things go out of synch. I edit in Vegas 6.0c. Is there going to be any problem with editing my videos at 23.976 frames per second for now on?

I edit exclusively in 23.976 fps (IVTC film option in Vegas) and it's working fine. BUT you have to be really careful with some things.
When you import video from other programs things can go slightly out of sync. I experienced this when I edited stuff in 23.976 fps in After Effects and imported it into Vegas. This is because AE stores the fps value as an approximate value, while Vegas uses the exact value 24000/1001 fps. So in these cases it's safer to export an image sequence and splice things together in Vegas.
Also be sure to have the latest DGMPGDec package. I think 1.4.5 was the last version that slightly messed up the fps (it was same exact/approximate value thing), which caused jerkiness in some parts of the finished video.
There's a 6.0d update out for Vegas btw.

I have 1.4.0.. I didn't know there could be a problem with it.. so do you suggest I go back and redo my d2v files? o.O talk about pain and also all my DVDs on my computer(over 450 by the way) are all made into d2vs.. I've made scripts for them all, and they are all converted to fake AVIs with Vfapi.. my head will explode if I have to go back and redu them again. >_<Janzki wrote:I edit exclusively in 23.976 fps (IVTC film option in Vegas) and it's working fine. Also I'll have to check out 6.0d.. thanks for that info! -_^
I thought changing it might get things go out of synch. Maybe not.. not sure though.Zarxrax wrote:Are you aware that at the bottom of the page it shows you how to get back to 23.976fps?
And there is going to be absolutely no filesize difference.

updating the psp would cause things not to work like emulators.. I actually am having my firmware downgraded because of it.. and soon I'll be able to have a bunch of new games work for it and there is a way into making it think you have updated versions so you can play latest games on it.. so I'm having trouble trusting Sony especially after the whole DRM screwing up peoples computers incident. I hope an update doesn't make things stop working for me in Vegas.. how is your experience with it Janzki?

Just to extend this thought, 24fps is 0.1% faster than 23.976 as is 30 to 29.97. Talks about that in the guide.Melanchthon wrote:You speed the song up slightly when you increase the framerate, and then decrease it when you decrease the framerate. So you'll be editing with the altered audio.
