AE Sound

Not sure if this s been asked b4, but ive got this noob problem: cant listen to anything in after effects, ill put a sample, i import a .wav file, add it to the frame time and put play and i get nothing... ive used WMM b4... thats the only expierence i have in this area (certainly none)... any help ll be aprecciated...
