Widescreen on xvid = annoying

I've just got some FMV from the videogame Final Fantasy from my friend,
and the video format is in "xvid". The only problem is that i can see black stripes on top and under the "screen-picture", how can i remove those widescreen effect??

(Sorry for my bad english, i'am from sweden)

Are you trying to make it 4:3, or just take the borders off?

or maybe it is the NTCP (or something likte that) and i use the PAL mode then i must remove the borders

I think you mean NTSC? Well, to remove the borders, I am going with the old fashion PAN/CROP option. Crop the black bars out or pan them out, whatever you pick. You can't really remove what's already be encoded unless you have the actual raw footage that doesn't have said bars.

Except that if these cutscenes are from Final Fantasy X or X-2, those games are letterboxed (even though some of the footage is 4:3, kind of like what Manga Entertainment did to Macross Plus); the bars are there and you have to crop them out.
