With certain DVDs that I try ripping (ie: Fullmetal Alchemist DVDs) the footage doesn't come out right. The first few minutes and the last few minutes of every episode keeps skipping and a couple of the DVDs that I've decrypted have ommitted some parts of an episode.
The only way I've been able to fix the former problem was to take the episode in my video editor and slice it up (a process which takes way too much time) and I haven't found a solution to the latter problem.
Has anyone here had this happen to them and is there any other way I can fix this (without having to use a capture card and recording from a DVD player)?

Sounds like a multi-angle disc. I dunno if Full-Metal Alchemist is multi-angle, but if it is, those tend to be difficult to rip properly :p

Fullmetal Alchemist is Multi-Angle during the OP and the ED credits for the respective language options. I believe all of Funimation's current and recent releases are like this (Samurai 7, Burst Angel, Kodocha, Fruits Basket, etc.): angle 1 for english credits, angle 2 for japanese credits.
Just rip your DVDs so that you only get one of the possible angles. In DVD Decrypter, use IFO mode to select the portions of the DVD you want. Or, for a quick and dirty way, use a program like DVD Shrink and it's Re-author function on the DVD. Select the angle you want for the DVD you are trying to rip and drag it over from the right pane to the left one. Just be sure to save the DVD as Files in a Folder on your hard drive. Since DVD Shrink can decrypt the DVD on it's own, you won't need to use DVD Decrypter for this method since I've yet to see an anime DVD that used newer copy protection schemes like ARccOS or RipGuard.
