Project A-Ko Deinterlacing help

I'm making my first AMV. It's to Project A-Ko but the interlacing on the DVD is really bad. I followed the audio/video guide but none of the methods. Blur worked but ... it's blur. If anyone has experience working with Project A-ko can you post some deinterlacing tips.
