Static Audio

Post by SiStyle » Tue Sep 20, 2005 5:35 pm

I'm having problems with Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0.

MP3's are always fine when I export them with a video (i.e and AMV with no voice over from an anime or sfx) but when it comes to audio from an anime or a sound effect I will get this harsh static crackling, which can get so intense it feels like my speakers will break.

This never occurs with normal MP3 songs, only when I add a voice over (straight from .avi of episode) or SFX (all MP3) it goes crazy.

Do I need an audio codec or a particular setting cos its driving me nuts. My friend gets the same thing.

Any help would be great!

- Check your levels. I had this same problem with my latest video until I realized that adding sound effects on top of the main song was causing clipping.

Many audio editors are capable of hard limiting to remove clipping; I know Adobe Audition (formerly Cool Edit Pro) can do it, and I wouldn't be surprised if Audacity could as well.

If nothing else, lower the volume levels in Premiere Pro before you export, until the meter doesn't get into the red zone anymore.

- Stop using MP3 sources; decode them to PCM WAV files and use those in Premiere Pro.

- +1: It's not "Premiere Pro 7.0". If it was, they wouldn't have called the sequel Premiere Pro 1.5.
