Any chance of deinterlacing after you've started?

Okay, I have a confession to make. I very stupidly did not deinterlace my footage before I started on my current AMV. Just managed to skip that step somehow.

Started editing, realized it, and was like "hey, I can still make this work. It won't be a problem." I'm now a quarter or a third through and it is a problem.

Is there any way I can save part of this? Maybe just the parts I've lip-synced already? Or do I have to scrap the whole thing and start over?

Any suggestions would be highly appreciated!

All you have to do is deinterlace your finished video footage using VirtualModDub and AVISynth.

Are you using AVIsynth to bring your footage into your editing program? Or are you making Huffyuv clips?

If you're using AVS, try just adding the following line

Telecide(order=1, guide=0, vthresh=50, post=2)

This should deinterlace without affecting the actual framerate, hence not messing up any of your edits.

Interlacing is really ennoying. I have that problem too, and I don't know how to fix it. I'm using Vegas 4.0, and supposedly it has an option that automatically deinterlace any video clips for you, but it's not always effective (sigh).
