Does anyone have a good guide for masking?
I just got adobe premier pro 1.5, but i have yet to learn how to mask efficiently. I know there a lot of ways, but does anyone know a good guide that explains some of the ways?

Depends on what kind of masking your need...
Photoshop is very good at more static masking (i.e. a object or character that is panned across the screen, etc...
After Effects on the other hand is much more efficient at object that move. Be warned that although you can make "Key" frames of the mask's shape, if you are masking out a character that is doing a lot if action, the key frames may only save you 1/3 or less of the frames. In other words, plan to stay in from of your computer for a while for masking of complex motion... Masking in AE is also lot better in terms of control over feathering, bleeding, etc.
I myself use a combination of Photoshop and After Effects and then use Premiere to compile the master effects...
Some once said “cant you just have a mask track the object and be done with it”.. I whish it was that easy with anime
